Dr. Connor Pihl, MD

Dr. Connor Pihl MD is a board-eligible fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the comprehensive treatment of shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand disorders. He is also experienced in the treatment of fractures, soft-tissue injuries, and sports-related and degenerative conditions of the knee. Dr. Pihl is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized care to his patients. He works closely with every patient to educate them and develop a treatment plan tailored to meet their goals.

Dr. Pihl was born and raised in Southeast Alaska and completed his undergraduate education at Santa Clara University. He attended the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he conducted orthopedic research resulting in multiple publications and presentations at national conferences. He then made the short trip from Seattle to Portland to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).

Following residency, Dr. Pihl completed a fellowship in Upper Extremity and Hand Surgery at OHSU, working with both Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery mentors to expand and hone his surgical skillset. He spent time treating complex disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand with various techniques including nerve repair/decompression, fracture care, tendon repair/transfer, reconstructive surgery, arthroscopy, arthroplasty, fusions, cartilage replacement procedures, and microsurgery. He also developed expertise in treating conditions such as Carpal Tunnel, Trigger Finger, and Dupuytren’s Disease with minimally invasive wide-awake procedures which allow for accelerated recovery. He believes in employing advanced techniques and technologies to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Pihl is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

Outside or work, Dr. Pihl enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog, exploring the Portland area, greater Oregon, and the rest of the Pacific Northwest.
